Delete your TouchBack data
Last updated 23 September 2026
TouchBack has no login, no email address and no password, so there is no account to close — but there is a profile, a pairing and a shared history, and you can have all of it removed. Here are both ways to do it.
In short. In the app, open Settings → Privacy → Delete my data. Everything personal goes immediately, not on a timer: your profile, your photo, your settings, your device. The history you and your partner made together goes too — for both of you. The only thing kept is the subscription receipt tax law requires, detached from you. If you no longer have the app, email us and we will do it for you.
1. In the app — the fastest way
- Open TouchBack.
- Go to Settings → Privacy.
- Tap Delete my data and confirm.
Your partner is told the pairing has ended, and then everything below is erased. There is no undo and no grace period, so read the next section before you confirm — in particular, the history the two of you made together goes as well, for both of you.
2. By email — if you no longer have the app
Write to cuong.software.dev@gmail.com with the subject “Delete my data”.
Because TouchBack has no login, we cannot look you up by name or email address. To find your records, please tell us:
- the nickname shown in your app;
- roughly when you paired, and your partner’s nickname if you know it;
- for subscription records, the order or transaction ID from your Apple or Google receipt.
Please never send us your recovery code. We will never ask for it, and anyone holding it could restore your connection.
We answer within 30 days. If we cannot match the details you give us to a record, we will tell you so rather than delete someone else’s data.
What is deleted
Everything below is erased at the moment you confirm — not marked for later, not queued for 30 days:
- your profile — nickname, profile photo, gender and avatar style;
- the photo file itself, and any older photo you had replaced, queued for removal from our private file storage and deleted by a cleanup job that runs every ten minutes;
- your settings — haptics, sound and notification preferences;
- your devices — every installation record, its secret, its push token, and the time zone and language stored with it. Every phone you had TouchBack on is signed out;
- your recovery and device-transfer codes, and any invitation you had open;
- your Knocks, queued notifications, and any rewarded-ad unlocks.
This also deletes the history you made together. A pair is two people. A session summary merges what both of you did, a Touch Print is drawn from a seed that belongs to the pair, and a statistic counts you both — none of it can be split in half or made anonymous, because with exactly two people in the room the other one always knows whose it is. So when you delete your data, every pair you have been part of is removed for both of you: session summaries, Touch Prints and their preview images, Find Me rounds, daily and lifetime statistics, and Recaps. Touch Prints your partner already saved to their own photo library stay on their phone, and so do yours.
Your partner’s own account is not touched. Their profile, settings, devices, recovery code and subscription all survive, as does any pairing they have with somebody else. They simply become unpaired.
If you only want to stop, not erase: disconnect instead. Disconnecting from Settings ends the room but keeps the shared history for 30 days, so if the two of you reconnect within that window it comes back. After 30 days it is deleted automatically.
What we keep, and for how long
Two things, and only two:
- Subscription receipts, if you ever subscribed — kept for 7 years to meet tax, accounting and audit obligations, and then deleted. They are detached from you at the moment of deletion: the link to your profile and the subscription provider’s identifier for you are erased, and what remains is the store transaction reference, the product, the price and the dates. They never contained your card details, because we never receive them. The underlying payment notification we received from the store is stripped of everything describing you at the same time, and the stripped remainder is deleted after 400 days.
- Abuse counters used to rate-limit sensitive actions. These hold a keyed one-way hash, never a readable address or identifier, and they expire on their own within 2 days.
One thing remains of the account itself: an empty marker holding nothing but the anonymous identifier and the date you deleted it, so that the same identity cannot be re-created and used to reach your former partner. It holds no nickname, no photo, no gender, no settings and no history, and it is deleted after 30 days.
Aggregated statistics that cannot be linked back to you may remain. Emails you send us are kept while we handle your request and for up to 12 months afterwards. The full list of retention periods is in section 8 of our Privacy Policy.
Deleting your data does not cancel a subscription
TouchBack Premium is billed by Apple or Google, not by us, so deleting your data — or deleting the app — does not stop the subscription renewing. Cancel it in your App Store subscriptions or in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions first.
Other privacy choices
You do not have to delete everything to change something. In Settings → Privacy you can switch analytics and crash reports off, and change your ad choices where your region offers them. In Settings → Notifications you can choose which notifications you receive. You can also simply disconnect from your partner without deleting your profile.
